About the school

A medical school shaped by service in Kendu Bay.

KASMS prepares nurses and clinical officers through classroom teaching, skills laboratories, and practice in hospitals and rural health centres.

Our story

Quality healthcare education since 1948

The school states that it has provided quality education since 1948. Its Department of Clinical Medicine was established in September 2011, and the college has remained focused on training that meets expected professional standards.

That standard showed in the Clinical Officers Council pre-internship standardisation examination: the September 2018 class and the September 2020 class both recorded a 100% pass.

Today the college offers the Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN), and an upgrading programme for enrolled community health nurses to KRCHN.
